Employment Opportunities at Mirkwood Engineering:
Junior Drafter/Designer (Oakville Office)
Currently we are looking for a junior drafter/designer with a structural engineering technician/technologist diploma, architecural technologist diploma or equivalent experience. The candidate must have the following abilities:
- Familiarity with CAD drafting techniques, specifically with AutoCAD 2000 or higher.
- Knowledge of structural details and systems and overall construction detailing.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients and meet client needs and expectations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
Intermediate Civil/Structural Technologist (Calgary Office)
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of structural drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or wood structures.
- Preparation of preliminary and detailed design calculations.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with contract drawings and documents.
- Construction administration duties including; field reviews/reports and preparation of As-Built drawings
Qualifications:
- Civil/Structural Diploma or Degree from a recognized institution is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of related practical work experience since graduation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2004 or better is essential
- Solid understanding of structural and architectural engineering aspects of light to heavy industrial, commercial and residential type projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment
